Reputable Media law firm based in the heart of the West End are looking to recruit an experienced HR Manager to run the firm's Human Resources department. Ideally you will be currently working for a law firm, although candidates from a professional services background will be considered. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leader in its field.
This generalist HR role will include the following duties:
* To manage the recruitment and resourcing provision for the Firm (including fee earners). Maintaining adequate resourcing, recommending the appropriate approach, i.e. direct advertising or recruitment agencies, and carry out the administrative support for the process including references and screening.
* To liaise with colleagues responsible for training and development to ensure that legal and business skills are maintained at an optimum level, induction procedures are carried out and training needs are met.
* To advise on performance management issues including disciplinary and capability matters, where necessary.
* To provide first line employment law and best practice advice and update and develop policies in accordance with changes to legislation and what is regarded as best practice.
* To manage the Firm's Graduate Recruitment Programme, liaising with universities and law schools, maintaining the trainee application website to ensure that the Firm attracts the best candidates, carrying out first interviews and making recommendations. Managing the seat rotation process and identifying external secondments when necessary.
* To manage the Firm's secretarial resource, carrying out appraisals and addressing performance issues, arranging cover for holidays and absence and ensuring the Partners' and Fee earners' administrative needs are met.
* To contribute to and ensure compliance with the Firm's remuneration strategy and prepare the documentation and make recommendations for the annual salary and benefits review, incorporating the collation and analysis of survey material.
* To manage and co-ordinate the administration of the Appraisal process and ensure that all documentation is appropriately reviewed by senior managers, action points are dealt with and the documentation filed.
* To provide an efficient administrative and record keeping service to the Firm, maintaining both manual and computerised records for sickness, holidays and other absence, recommending action where necessary, ensuring adherence to the Data Protection Code of Practice.
* To prepare the monthly payroll data to ensure the timely delivery to the external payroll agency.
* To maintain and manage the annual appraisal process and ensure that training needs are identified and met.
* To maintain management information and provide analysis when required and be able to research and provide management reports on people related matters.
* To manage the Human Resource budget and obtain authorisation for variances to budget
* To participate in ad hoc HR projects as required, providing research, analysis and presenting material to the partnership.
Ideally you will be degree educated and a Graduate member of the CIPD, with a breadth of experience in a Generalist HR role (preferably stand-alone).
c£40-50 doe + excellent city benefits. To be considered for this role you must have the right to work in the UK and be CIPD qualified.
